Currently, Olympios Group is installing a wireless automated data reading system for 32,105 digital water meters within DEYAL’s geographical jurisdiction. Using a fixed LoRaWAN network, data on consumption and alerts from the digital water meters is received in real-time through 22 collectors. Due to low energy consumption achieved by periodic data transmission, the digital meters can operate for extended periods without frequent interventions.
All collected data is displayed and analyzed on IANIC’s IoT web platform, SmartVille. Through visual elements like lists, diagrams, charts, digital maps and dashboards, system managers can more easily identify trends, deviations and irregularities. Furthermore, automated processes and algorithms aid in the optimal planning and decision-making necessary for efficient water network management and services improvement.
For each meter, detailed information is provided, such as water consumption, reading time and method, any internal alerts, exact geographic location and consumer details. Additionally, due to the bidirectional connection between SmartVille and DEYAL’s ERP system—also developed and provided by IANIC—water consumption data is automatically transferred, facilitating prompt and accurate bill issuance for each service connection. Moreover, financial data from the ERP system is displayed on the platform, offering administrators a comprehensive view of each customer’s billing and financial data.
To better serve the public, IANIC has developed MySmartVille, a smart web and mobile app which provides consumers with transparency and direct access to DEYAL’s services. Through the app, consumers receive electronic notifications, view their complete consumption and payment history, and pay their bills online. They can also report water supply issues, submit online applications and receive timely information about water supply disruptions.
IANIC’s SmartVille IoT web platform brings significant benefits to DEYAL and its consumers. Automating data collection and accurate consumption tracking reduces the need for manual readings, enhancing network efficiency and lowering both costs and environmental impact. Additionally, instant alerts about issues, like leaks, enable quicker intervention and limit water losses.
From the consumer’s perspective, access to precise consumption data and easy electronic bill payment offer greater transparency and convenience in managing water usage. The MySmartVille also provides a direct communication channel with DEYAL, improving overall customer service experience.
With the successful completion of this project, IANIC reaffirms its commitment to innovation and the digitization of water services using cutting-edge technologies, advancing sustainable water resource management.
