GeoInformatics

The Power of Geospatial Data

A Geographic Information System (GIS) is an information system used for entering, retrieving, managing, analyzing and transmitting all types of geographic data, that is, data with spatial reference, with the aim to support proper management and decision-making related to land use, natural resources, environment, transport, urban services, etc. GIS integrate all data (location, descriptive, temporal) into maps, thus solving complex problems in the creation, updating and correction of spatial data, maps and statistics, as well as in their distribution and common use.

In IANIC, we design and develop Spatial Data Infrastructures based on OGC standards and according to the INSPIRE Directive, delivered through the internet as a service.
